Shopify + 8returns
This is the deepest Shopify returns integration available. Here's what that means in practice.
Native Return objects. 8returns creates Shopify Return objects through the GraphQL Return API – the same system Shopify uses internally. That means returns show up natively in Shopify admin with reverse fulfillment tracking. No custom fields, no workarounds, no data living in a silo.
Store Credit 2.0. 8returns uses Shopify's native Store Credit API directly – not the gift card workaround most competitors rely on. Customers get real store credit that shows in their account. For merchants on older plans, legacy gift card support is still available.
Multi-transaction refund splitting. When a customer paid with multiple methods (PayPal + credit card, for example), 8returns calculates and splits the refund across the correct transactions automatically. This is the kind of edge case that creates hours of manual work for finance teams.
Exchange draft orders. Exchanges are built via GraphQL with modular components – billing address, shipping address, line items, discounts, inventory reservation, and order tags. Each piece is handled by a dedicated builder, so exchanges work correctly even in complex scenarios with price differences, discount codes, or custom shipping.
Shop Now exchanges. Customers can browse your real product collections inside the return portal using the Storefront API. They see contextual pricing for their country, pick a new item, and 8returns creates the exchange order. This isn't a dropdown of variant options – it's a real shopping experience embedded in the return flow.
